Our Commitment

At The Sheeter Group, we recognize the importance of upholding professional and social responsibility, values and ethics not only with our clients, but also with the Credit Union industry and those around us.

The Sheeter Group was founded on solid values that led us to be who we are today and how we operate. It is our pleasure to work directly and exclusively with Credit Unions because the Credit Union philosophy of people helping people most closely  reflects The Sheeter Group’s own values.

We have identified three guiding standards that help us define our values and demonstrate our commitment:

1. We communicate with transparency, education and integrity.
We are dedicated to achieving the goals of our clients and always being responsive to their needs. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and say what we believe, not what others want to hear.

We give sound advice and guide our clients through education. The Sheeter Philosophy is that education is key, and that a clear understanding of plan options makes for a comfortable decision process. Our end goal is to establish a custom benefit plan that aligns with the credit union’s compensation philosophy and motivates and retains the plan participants.

2. We believe administration after implementation is just as important.
We are dedicated to building and maintaining loyal relationships. At The Sheeter Group, we strive to be a reliable partner and work in a collaborative manner with our clients. In order to achieve this, we place the client at the center of everything we do. We fully commit to consistently delivering on expectations, and always look to improve ourselves and our service.

As a smaller, privately owned company, we work very closely with our clients—not only by working with the board/committee designing the plan from the get go, but in the day-to-day administration as well. We know that if we want to be our best, continuous learning and adaptation is required. We strive to constantly educate ourselves and our clients on industry standards and regulations, and constantly ensure our clients’ best interests are always put first.

3. We share our successes by giving back to our clients, to our industry, and to the community around us.
The Sheeter Group believes strongly in being socially responsible. We strive to contribute our time, talents and resources to make a difference in the lives of those around us. We work closely with several of our clients on the “Credit Unions for Kids” program. We are sponsors of the Northwest Classic and Credit Union’s for Kids Wine Auction, both benefiting Childrens’ Hospitals around the country.

We also work with many other charities. One of our favorite charities is a small nonprofit grassroots program operating in Maasai tribal lands, which spans portions of southern Kenya and northern Tanzania. This grassroots program helps farmers, mostly women, with a revolving fund to start small group projects and improve existing ones. Funds are divided among 28 groups of women who have started poultry, goat, and financial cooperatives. The women are learning to earn money and save, rather than borrow at high rates -- their cultural norm. The program also helps with other kinds of education. They make bricks locally, and currently have a goal of building one or two classrooms per year, 97 miles (157km) from Arusha city, Tanzania.

In addition to these great charities, The Sheeter Group also works closely with Journey’s End Animal Sanctuary, A Cause for Paws, Back to Nature Wildlife Rescue, English Springer Rescue, Hubbs-Seaworld Research Institute, Ford’s Theatre, and The Smithsonian.
